Medcenter One physical therapists attend evidence-based course

BISMARCK, N.D.—Medcenter One physical therapists Michelle Keller, Phyllis Heyne-Lindholm, Rick Winden, Todd Leingang, Mike Ibach, Jim Morgan, Bryan Guthmiller, Mike Neff, Jamie Crane, Brandon Dirk, Heather Hunt, Jeff Wetzel, Grant Judah, Mike Brosseau, Melanie Carvell, Colleen Leingang, Carol Hineman, Nicholl Jurgens-Dinnius and Becky Sorenson recently attended an Evidence-based Examination and Selected Interventions for Patients with Lumbopelvic, Spine and Hip Disorders seminar. This educational event was hosted by Evidence In Motion and sponsored by Medcenter One.

Upon completion of this seminar, the physical therapists were able to demonstrate competency in clinical examination skills and integrate examination findings to further establish an accurate diagnosis and prognosis. The physical therapists were then able to select and demonstrate manual physical therapy techniques and exercise interventions based on current research and evidence in the areas of the lumbopelvic, spine and hip.

Medcenter One is a non-profit, integrated health system that consists of a 232-bed hospital, a multi-specialty clinic, a college of nursing, six primary care clinics, three kidney dialysis centers and four long-term care facilities in western and central North Dakota. Key accreditations and quality awards include: Joint Commission, American College of Surgeons Level II Emergency and Trauma Center, Magnet Recognition Program® and 100 Top Hospitals® for cardiovascular care by Thomson Reuters in 2009.
