Birthcenter One nurses become certified lactation counselors
BISMARCK, N.D.—Pamela Fischer, Alyssa Backes, Jenna McBride and Becky Kuss, all Medcenter One Birthcenter One registered nurses, recently became certified lactation counselors.
Lactation counselors are nurses who provide support and assistance to breastfeeding mothers. They encourage the initiation and continuation of breastfeeding, offering suggestions and tips as needed. These nurses also counsel new mothers to help prevent breastfeeding problems at the beginning, and throughout their breastfeeding experience.
There are now seven certified lactation counselors on staff at Birthcenter One. For more information, call Birthcenter One at 701.323.6598.
